How it plays
A tile falls down the chute; you steer it into a column and it lands in that slot on the nine-slot bench. You are spelling by placement — the column you drop a letter into is the column that letter will occupy forever. Letters don’t have to be side by side; gaps are fine, order still matters.
When the bench holds a valid word, lock it: the letters fuse into one bar and drop into the yard at exactly the columns you built them in. So you are choosing the word and where it lands.
A bar’s mass is the sum of its letter weights, and its centre of mass is where that mass sits — so QUIZ leans hard towards its Q and Z while EASE balances dead centre. At every joint the combined mass of everything above must fall inside the bar below, or the tower goes over from that joint up.
Before you commit, a ghost shows exactly where the word would land — green stands, amber leans, red topples. The lean meter in the HUD is the tower’s worst joint; the plumb line is its overall centre of mass. Arrows beside the ghost nudge the bar one column either way — enough to save a topple, not enough to place it anywhere you like.
Longer words score more (mass × length, plus a bonus per bar already standing) but they overhang more and swing the centre of mass further. Heavy letters pay well and destabilise badly. Short, light words are safe and cheap.
Pace pays too. Every word’s score is multiplied by how fast its tile was falling — the chute tightens as you bank words, and you can set the opening fall, the fastest it gets and how much faster each word makes it. Play a daily on a faster setting and it scores higher; slow the chute to make it easy and the points fall to match.
One set of letters a day, dealt in the same order to everybody who plays it, so two scores are worth comparing — the difference is entirely what you built. It’s replayable, and the day’s best is what is kept. Free play deals a fresh set of letters every game, and your best score and tallest tower are kept for each mode separately.
The dealer is smarter than a shuffled bag: at most two vowels or three consonants in a row, one heavy letter pending at a time, no Q without a U on the way — so you never get a bench you can’t play.

LexiFlux works completely offline. Nothing is posted anywhere, there is no leaderboard and no login — the daily puzzle is compared out loud, with a friend. The only thing the game ever asks for is permission to buzz your phone when the tower moves, and that never prompts.
