Answers to common questions — and a real person if you need one.
The #1 way to help — bigger than a coffee
A quick rating and review is the single most powerful thing you can do to help — and it’s completely free.
Simply Sudoku has no ads and no advertising budget. It can’t pay to appear on the app stores — it only gets noticed when players like you leave a review. Every rating pushes it higher in search, helps new people discover an honest, ad-free game, and keeps it growing without spending a cent on ads. Great reviews are our advertising.
Already left a review? Thank you — it genuinely makes the difference. Telling a friend helps just as much. 🙂
Live now on both Google Play and the App Store.
Yes. There are no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases — nothing to unlock inside the app, and no limit on how much you play. The free edition includes Easy and Medium, today’s puzzle, notes, hints, undo, best times and continue-where-you-left-off. If you would like to say thanks, you can buy the author a coffee - entirely optional.
Simply Sudoku Pro is a separate edition on the same app stores — one small payment, no subscription. It adds the Hard and Expert levels (including their daily puzzles), a 16×16 board with the hex symbols 0–F and pinch-to-zoom, custom games dealt from a number or word, the full statistics page, all ten themes and twelve board looks, landscape play and an Allow screenshots setting. Buying Pro is the best way to support the app and keep the free edition free. See the full comparison. If the Pro listing isn’t on your store yet, it’s on its way — the download links on this site go live as each store approves it.
Both editions record your statistics, and the free edition keeps recording everything even though it only shows the streak tiles. On Windows the two editions share the same data files, so best times and history appear in Pro straight away. On Android and iOS each app is sandboxed by the operating system, so the Pro app starts with its own fresh history — there is no account or cloud to move it through.
One puzzle per level per day that is the same for everyone, everywhere, in both editions — so you can compare times with a friend. It changes at midnight, local time. The start panel card tells you whether you’ve played it yet.
Version 1.7 replaced the startup picker with the start panel: tap a level pill, then Continue, Today’s Puzzle, New Game or (in Pro) Custom Game. The pill you choose is remembered. If you’d rather go straight to the board, turn on Start a game right away at launch in Settings. The old “Don’t warn on New” checkbox is gone too — New now opens the start panel, and you’re only asked to confirm when a game you’ve actually worked on would be lost.
Yes, always — there’s no longer a setting for it. Whenever the app goes to the background or is closed with a game in progress, that game is saved, and the next launch offers it as CONTINUE on the start panel (or on a Welcome back card if you’ve turned on Start a game right away). Undo history isn’t kept between launches.
No to both. The app works completely offline and there is no sign-up or login. You install it and play.
No. This app does not collect any user data. Your current game, best times, statistics, and settings are stored only on your device and are never sent anywhere. The in-app Send feedback button simply drafts an email in your own mail app. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Simply Sudoku is built to run on Android, iOS, and Windows. Store links will appear on the download page as each version goes live.
Yes. Every puzzle is generated and verified to have exactly one solution, so you can always solve by logic alone — no guessing required.
Tap the pencil to toggle notes mode and pencil-in candidates. Hints reveal a correct digit (a limited number per level) and let you keep or undo it. Undo and redo let you step back and forward through your moves without penalty. Press and hold a number key to make it “sticky” and place it in several cells in a row. The full guide covers every feature.
Tap the amber ★ in the top bar (or ★ RATE on the start panel), then Send feedback. Type your message and the app hands it to your own mail app as a draft addressed to support, with the app version and edition already filled in — nothing is sent until you press Send in your mail app. If no mail app is set up on your device, the app shows the address so you can write from anywhere.
Progress, best times and statistics are saved locally on your device. Clearing the app’s data, uninstalling, or moving to a new device will remove them, since nothing is stored in the cloud. (Custom games never set a best time, by design — they can be replayed with the answer known.) If something looks wrong, please get in touch.
The single best way is to rate & review the app on your app store — it’s free, takes about 30 seconds, and it’s what helps new people discover it. With no ads and no advertising budget, reviews are how these apps get noticed instead of paid ads. After that: tell others and spread the word; if you’d like more from a game, buy its Pro edition (paid once, no subscription); or buy the author a coffee. No coffee money to spare? No problem at all — a review, or even a quick email to say you appreciate an app, means just as much. Every bit helps keep this software ad-free.
LexiFlux (a word game with physics, free, with a one-time Pro edition for custom games) is in its final stretch and will come to Google Play, the App Store and Windows; Crosswords (freshly generated puzzles from an offline dictionary, free, with a one-time Pro edition) is in pre-release builds heading for the App Store, the Microsoft Store and a Linux download; Another File Manager (a multi-panel Windows file manager) is in active development at v1.6 and isn’t in a store yet. Each app’s page gets its download links the moment they exist. If you’d like to try an early build, just email.
All feedback is welcome. Apps No Ads apps do not collect any information about you, so there’s no way to reach you first — if you have a bug report, a suggestion, or just a kind word, please email. Every message gets read, and you’ll get a reply.
