Simply Sudoku opens on a start panel that offers every way to play: pick a level, continue the game you left off (it’s always waiting — no setting to remember), take on today’s puzzle, deal a fresh new game, or open statistics. Your best times sit right underneath. No menus to dig through — one tap and you’re solving.
Every day there’s one puzzle per level that everyone in the world gets, so you can compare times with a friend or make it part of your morning. The start panel tells you whether you’ve played it yet and how you did, and the game shows Daily · Fri 11 Sep under the title while you solve. Included in the free edition.
Big, high-contrast digits on a clean grid. Selecting a cell highlights its row, column, box, and every matching number, so the board is effortless to scan. Given clues and your own entries are always easy to tell apart, and the top bar keeps New · Hint · Undo · Redo · Pause · Settings one tap away.
Pencil in candidates with a tap of the notes button. Press and hold a number to make it sticky — it turns amber and every empty cell you tap gets that digit. Prefer a safety net? Keep red highlighting on for wrong entries — or switch it off for a pure, check-when-you’re-done challenge.
Stuck? A hint reveals one correct digit in green — then you decide whether to keep it or undo it. Hints are limited per game, so they help when you need them without doing the puzzle for you. Unlimited undo/redo has your back either way, and every puzzle is verified to have exactly one solution, so logic alone always gets you there.
Win streak, day streak and time played at a glance; then, per level, games played, won and lost, win rate, perfect solves, best and average times, a trend (getting faster or slower?), average mistakes and hints, and a strip of your last ten games. Every edition records; the free edition shows the three streak tiles and Pro shows the whole page — so if you upgrade later, your history is already there.
Type anything into the seed box — coffee, your birthday, a lucky number — and Simply Sudoku deals the same puzzle every time for that seed and level, on every platform. Share a seed with a friend and race the same board, or replay a favourite. Pro also unlocks the Hard and Expert levels and the 16×16 board.
When 9×9 starts to feel small: a 16×16 board with 4×4 boxes and the hex symbols 0–F, at every level, with its own daily puzzle, custom games, best times and statistics. Every puzzle still has exactly one solution. Pinch to zoom in on the corner you’re working, drag to move around, double-tap to snap back. Sixteen keys, sixteen pencil marks per cell, the same quiet board.
A short settings page with a one-line explanation for each switch — highlight wrong numbers, start a game right away at launch (skipping the start panel), your preferred level, and on Pro, allow screenshots — and that’s it. Nothing applies until you tap Apply. A game timer and per-level best times give you something to beat, and everything is saved privately on your device.
Set the mood right from the main screen. Choose an app theme and, separately, a board look that recolours just the grid. The free edition includes the Default and Dark themes and the Classic, Midnight and High-Contrast boards; Pro opens up all ten themes and all twelve board looks — Paper, Mint, Slate, Rose, Lavender, Sunset, Forest, Charcoal and more.
